Welcome to Prime Angus! We are located about 16 miles south of Hay Springs, Nebraska. Our family has been raising bulls for over 30 years. I, Lynden Smith, sold my first bull at the age of 12 years old in 1995 at the All Breeds Bull Sale in Crawford. I continued selling bulls with my parents until 2015 when family circumstances became complicated. At that time, I had to lease out my cows until I could afford to establish my own place to calve and run cattle. The family who leased my cattle used them to raise Sim Angus bulls, which is how I ended up with some Sim genetics in my herd. However, Angus has always been my true passion. I regained possession of my cows in 2020, held our first private treaty sale in 2021, and have been thriving ever since.
   At Prime Angus, we are dedicated to breeding top-quality genetics. We believe it starts with the cow, focusing on high fertility rates, docility, longevity, and consistently topping the scales every fall. Our goal is to build a strong cow herd that fosters long-term relationships which will last for generations. Our program aims to develop a universal bull that is well-rounded. We believe that phenotype is more important than genotype and that we shouldn't just chase EPDs. We stand behind every bull we sell and are committed to supporting our customers long after the sale.
